Pahalgam Attack : Increasing Pressure due to Stringent Measures

By Rishikesh Kumar · Apr 27 2025

“Opening the dams constructed on the Jhelum River without giving prior notice to Pakistan, along with conducting various military exercises in the Arabian Sea by the Indian Navy, is building pressure on Pakistan to take action or issue a statement against India, which defense specialists indicate is a success in India’s plan for revenge.”

Building Pressure through Water and Military Exercises :

The release of water from the Uri Dam, constructed on the Jhelum River, has created chaos in areas such as the Hattian Bala district of PoK. A flood emergency has already been declared in Muzaffarabad and other nearby areas.

On one hand, Pakistan is experiencing flood-like situations, while on the other, it is facing droughts in its provinces of Sindh and Punjab.

Moreover, the Indian Navy has increased military exercises in Arabian Sea, which has alarmed Pakistan to such an extent that they have issued a fresh naval warning to their forces.

The increased social media activity by the Indian Armed Forces is also shedding light on possible future outcomes for Pakistan.

Pakistan is under intense pressure due to increased military exercises by the Indian Army and looming challenges, prompting its Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, to state on Saturday that “Pakistan is open to any neutral, transparent, and credible investigation” into the attack. Meanwhile, TRF (The Resistance Front) has now denied any involvement in the Pahalgam attack, despite having earlier claimed responsibility for the deaths of 26 tourists on April 22. They are now being recklessly mocked by BJP leaders for retracting their earlier statements out of panic over the stringent measures taken by India.
